Vehicle Description Tab Screen

Use this screen to enter the vehicle information and damage options. Enter the vehicle VIN number in this screen to decode and select the vehicle from the MOTOR database.

Description of fields in the VIN pane

Field Label Description
Recall Notices The Vehicle Recall screen opens when you select this option. This button is enabled when a valid VIN has been decoded.

Note: All vehicle recall information published by NHTSA is displayed in the Vehicle Recall screen. The information in the screen can be copied into the Estimate Lines screen by using the Windows® copy and paste feature.
(decode field for VIN) Enter the vehicle VIN number in this field. If you do not have the VIN number, you may leave the field blank. This field cannot be edited after the estimate has been locked.
Decode Select this button after you have entered a valid VIN number. This button is disabled when the VIN is missing or invalid.
(message field for VIN) One of two messages appear in this field. Good VIN is displayed in green text when the VIN has been decoded successfully. Vehicle not selected from VIN is displayed in red text when the VIN is invalid or cannot be decoded.

Description of fields in the Vehicle Information pane

Field Label Description
Assigned Vehicle The assignment vehicle information is displayed as a tooltip when you mouse over the blue information icon. The decoded VIN may display different vehicle information when compared to the assigned vehicle displayed here.
Vehicle This option allows you to select the standard vehicle from the MOTOR database or the option to write an estimate using generic vehicle terms. Selecting the Standard option allows you to manually select the vehicle from the MOTOR database.

Selecting the Generic option allows you make selections from the MOTOR's generic database or to enter the vehicle damage lines manually. If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this option.
Type If the VIN does not decode, select the droplist, and choose the Vehicle Type from the list. Valid values include Car, Other, Personal Property, Pick-up, Specialty Car, Unknown, Utility Vehicle, or Van. If the VIN is valid, it will decode the type. If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this field
Year / Make (year) The value indicates the year of the car. If the VIN does not decode this field, enter the year manually. If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this field.
Year / Make (make) indicates the four-digit make code of the vehicle. If the VIN does not decode the vehicle, enter the Make manually, or open the droplist, and select the four-digit make code. If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this field.
Model

This field is filled in if the VIN decodes the exact model. If the VIN does not decode the exact model, then you have two options.

• Select the available model from the droplist after you have selected the Year and Make
• Enter the model name of the vehicle in the field

If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this field.

Select Standard Vehicle

This button opens the CCC Standard Vehicle Selection screen. Select the Model in this screen, and then click OK. This button is disabled if the estimate is Locked.

Body Style This droplist indicates the body style of the vehicle, such as 2D PU (pick-up) or 4D SED (sedan). The field is filled in if the decoded a VIN is valid, or if you have selected a vehicle from the Select Standard Vehicle screen. If it is not, then select the body style for the vehicle from the droplist. If the estimate is locked, you cannot change this field.
Engine The value in this field indicates the exact engine of the vehicle. The field is filled in if the decoded a VIN is valid, or if you have selected a vehicle from the Select Standard Vehicle screen. If it is not, then select the engine for the vehicle from the droplist. If the estimate is Locked, you cannot change this field.
Mileage In Enter the vehicle mileage when it was dropped off before starting the repair.
Mileage Out Enter the vehicle mileage out when the repairs are completed and the vehicle is delivered to the customer.
Production Date The month and year of manufacture date of the vehicle. Enter the production date of the vehicle in this field. The field format is MM/YYYY.
Fuel Select this option, and then use the slider control to indicate the fuel level.
Exterior Color Enter the vehicle exterior color. This is a 25 character free form field.
Interior Color Enter the vehicle interior color. This is a 25 character free form field.
Paint Code The vehicle paint code from the manufacturer is used for the vehicle exterior color identification. This is a 25 character free form field.
Trim Code Enter the manufacturer color identification number for the vehicle interior colors. This is a 25 character free form field.
License Plate (number) The vehicle license plate number can be entered in this field. This is a 10 character free form field.
License Plate (state) Select the state of the licensed vehicle from this droplist.
License Expiration Enter the expiration date of the vehicle license. This value is the license expiration date of the vehicle. The field format is MM/YYYY.
Package 1 Select the available Model option from this droplist. If there are packages available for the selected vehicle, they will appear in this droplist. Packages are determined by Year, Make, and Vehicle Type. This field is blank if you are not a CCC Valuescope user and information cannot be entered in this field if no packages were available.
Package 2 Select the available Model option from this droplist. If there are packages available for the selected vehicle, they will appear in this droplist. Packages are determined by Year, Make, and Vehicle Type. This field is blank if you are not a CCC Valuescope user and information cannot be entered in this field if no packages were available.
Job Number The term is used only in CCC Estimating only users.

Description of fields in the Damage pane

Field Label Description
Repairable Vehicle Condition Select Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor from the droplist to indicate the overall vehicle condition.
Primary Point of Impact This is used to indicate the location of the primary impact to the vehicle. Make your selection from the droplist. The selected number displays the same number in red on the graphic.
Secondary Point of Impact This is used to indicate the location of any secondary impact to the vehicle. Make your selection from the droplist. The selected number displays the same number in yellow on the graphic.
(displayed vehicle graphic) Alternately the point of impact can be selected by clicking on the location number from this graphic. The first selected number is red and populates the Primary Point of Impact field on the screen. The second selected number is yellow and populates the Secondary Point of Impact on the screen.
(driveability options) Select one of the three options. Options include Driveable, Not Driveable, or Unknown (default).
Impact Note Enter any damage remarks as it relates to the vehicle repair. Use this field for estimate notes.
Prior Damage Note Enter damage remarks that pertain to Related and Unrelated Prior Damage on the vehicle.
